I will be there, the only thing we couldnt kill on a pug attempt tonight was Lord Recluse at the end and thats because a pug never listens and goes straight in doing there own little thing, get beat up sensless for 2 hours straight by the same AV and give up with some lame excuse without trying to use common sense. Almost lost my temper at some point heh. Apart from that, that TF is really fun :)

I'll play on Sionaraa so she can get the badges!

The Tf is lots of fun, the other day I played it with Da Muse on a PUG. We did not do bad at all, but in the last mission just could not even dent Ghost Widow. After beatiing on her for almost an hour we gave up.

Mike we can run it in the weekend too, it is too much fun just not to take every opportunity :dude:

Today Dough and the boys would like to run it too, hence the timing.

Ooo and Glen, will most certainly pay your respects to Statesman. And I am sure he will have some questions to you :D

I don't get home until 4:30, and I'll be going right out again tonight.  Like Mike, later in the night and weekends are better.  But I understand your need to start earlier.

Good luck, and sign me up for the next one!  Blue needs to get this done! (He's still the only one I CAN use... I need to get more 50s...)

Works for me too.  Got a meeting in the morning about my new show, but after that I'm pretty much free.

Oh, and I JUST got back from Spidey 3... will probably see it again at some point.  Enjoy it!  I did.

Well I just spent the whole night playing 2 STF's on pugs. Unless it's a built group specifically for that TF, Im done playing it with pugs, end of story. Seen everything there was to see up till the final AV, which we failed to beat, yet again. Think that was my 6th attempt, probably clocked in my usual monthly hours for coh just this week heh.

I'll be on CoH around 5 est also, depending on the team build, I'll bring whatever toon I have thats the most useful... I'll get the badges some other time on my main character, I dont mind anymore.

From a lot of forum reading, seems like an ideal team build would be 2x *rad controllers, 1 stone tank, 1 dark def, 1 emp def or troller, 3 scrappers, preferably regen but others could do if not available. Debuffs (for Lord Recluse especially) are the key. The rest of the TF you can do with only one debuffer (as long as its -regen for Mako), done one only with -regen heal from my kin def today, but of course we lacked more -regen, -accuracy, -dmg, - defense, - resist for LR so that one aborted there too.

It's a shame that this game event should require an almost specific team build to be able to complete. Of course you can change some of the damage dealers around but in the end if you do not have enough debuffs, you're toast. Don't know why the devs came up with this, sucks for the casual players.

But I'll be there tomorrow (humm today) to help if I can, later!

Will be on today for it again.  Will bring Stoneburst (stone tank).  I agree that without the debuffers, this TF is a total waste of time.  I'm pretty ticked off with the devs.

I don't know how much longer I can keep playing this game; with the lack of real improvement/additions to content, I just don't see me continuing... :?

Oh, and I should tell you, it sux to be a stone tank w/o speed boost on this thing.  And yes, we had someone on the team with SB, but did they use it?....  :X

Duh fifth attempt failed too today, sigh. Not enough debuffers for Mako. It is getting frustrating: Can't do the LRSF and now I can't complete the STF either. Although I keep hearing from people that do it easy in 3 hours. Point is you just need a /kin and a /rad minnimum and I don't have either of them, that is not high enough. My dark defender alone is not enough to -reg Mako either.

So conclusion: sick of PUGs too. Will be here 5 pm and we will see what happens.

5pm run was the best for me so far.  We managed to do all 4 major AVs except LR w/o a -rad.  Mako took the longest but we whittled him down eventually; Ghost Widow was the hardest to keep taunted, but when we managed to keep her from being able to do her AoE heals, she went down fast.

We came soooo close to making progress on Lord Recluse too.  We'd taunt him to the side with 2 target-based healers trying to keep the tank alive, and the rest of the team would attack the red tower.  They got the red tower down to a sliver before LR and all his executioner spawns finally took out the tank.  We went and got insps for everyone to try again, but the attempt was botched, so we basically decided to end it there.  By then, it was 4am Corrie's time (what a trooper :)).

We figure we could do the exact same group again except to have a healer instead of... I don't know who.  Seemed like everyone did their part right, we just need more heals on the tank that wouldn't have to be target-based.

I don't know why the devs feel that every team has to have _very_particular_ members to survive the LR AVs.  They gave a drop that was supposed to help us with Dr. Aeon, but nothing for the rest of them.  And heck, that drop was totally bogus.  Lasts 5 hours for one piddly AV, and is useless against all the other AVs.

Maybe there is one of those inventions out there we can use??

Maybe if we had an emp healer instead of a dark def we would have done it?

Anyways we were close and I still think this is a fun TF: :dude:

The dark defender debuffs accuracy and damage, plus brings resistance to energy/psionic/negative damage +resist to fear and a good aoe heal. While LR spawns his elite bosses I think that can help a lot if near the taunting tank.

Of course an empathy healer was needed to help with the healing part. We had one too many tanks on the team, which could have been replaced with an emp. I've tried on a team where there was one emp trying to heal the tank without debufffs and it just cant keep up with the incoming damage taken (that healer was me, and even with hasten and power boost, just cant cut it).

Either way, I might try it again next week or later on, for now I'll just play :)

It was a lot of fun until the end.  And that's at least probably possible.  But yeah, we shouldn't HAVE to have a specific type of team for it.  I'll try again at some point, maybe next weekend.

I was actually able to complete it with a Praesidium team last night. Corrie was right, we were able to pull him back to that ramp (eventually, the tank we had kept dieing almost instantly when she tried to taunt him. The other scrapper ended up pulling him). When he was finally back there, we used shivans, some nukes, had a kinetics, i think 2 rads helping with debuff, 2 scrappers, a blaster, en emp healer, plus the tank.

It was a bitch getting through scirocco and GW. Our group (the SG's) did better against his "Inner Circle", we were quicker. Mako gave the group similar problems (damn his elude). Even though we actually succeeded last night, it was still a prime example of needing that specific team for the final push. I honestly think any decent PUG team can make it up to the last mission, but after that, your screwed if you aren't built to handle the 5 main AV's. Hopefully that will change. I mean, I know the dev's want us to employee a little strategy, not just go in and bash everything up, but come on.

We can try again as an SG this weekend. I will be visiting my mother in the hospital in the morning on Saturday, but afternoon I should be ok. I will post a more specific time for me later this week (after I know what the visitation circumstances are).

Gratz Mike!

I am currently running the tf again with some friends, we have went through the whole thing except for GW and Recluse. We stopped because it was late and we're meeting again tonight to try to complete.

Was invited by an old friend who just came back to the game, and he completed the tf on saturday with a team who didnt have any of the "required" AT's as we all think it should be done. So we will see if we can complete this tonight as we have a simlar team.

2 empaths (1 grav troller, 1 elec def)
1 dark/nrg defender
1 Illusion/Storm troller
2 Scrappers (1 MA/SR, 1 spines/regen)
1 fire/fire blaster
1 fire/stone tank

We blew thru everything real fast, as we are all agreeing on the strategies to take and follow them thru. We all agreed on getting shivans for everyone and nukes before we continue tonight. Hopefully we will succeed.

Edit: Well 3 person on our team didn't show up even after an hour. So we gave up and quit. Next team ! :)
