We've had a coalition with PoW for some time now, and some of us have had characters in both SGs, and most of us, if not all, are members of the PoW chat channel.  Now we are taking the next step: Sharing leaders.

Stephane (Stalemate) is taking a retirement from managing the PoW and Praesidium and PERC groups, wanting to spend more time in play rather than being mired in Paragon City's bureaucracy and red tape (but I repeat).  Along with him, most of the Phantoms of War's leadership will also step back and let new Generals take the reins.

At the same time, there will be an exchange of leaders in both groups (effectively, the top leads in both supergroups have the option of placing some of their characters into the leadership role in the other group).

The primary benefits of this arrangement, for us in particular, is to help swell our ranks, as surely at least some non-leader Phantoms are bound to join the Punishers.

Secondly, by being an even-more active coalition, we will get to know each other to a greater degree, be more comfortable with each other, and that means more teaming.  It's actually hard to get PoW folks to team up, even when there are quite a few of them online.  This is because they are too vested with what characters they may be playing at the moment to want to switch modes to teamplay.

Lastly, it will help facilitate base raid scheduling.  The Punishers are way behind the Phantoms in preparing for this day, mostly because we had no desire to waste what prestige we had on setting the base up for it.  By increasing our numbers (and thus our prestige revenue), we can finally start building up for it.

Corrie and I have currently moved a couple characters over to Generals in the Phantoms, and a few of them now have a Minister position in the Punishers, and were invited and assigned operator status in the paragonpunishers chat channel.  You may have recognized their globals: Great Gazoo, ilovetheusers and Uun.

Again, it is entirely optional to join the Phantoms, let alone take a lead position there.  And even though they now have leaders here, keep in mind that it is NOT because they are changing any of the things that define us as Punishers, not in any way.  The goal is to make us a true coalition, heroes joined at the hip and having fun together! :)

And remember:

This isn't war... It's not vengeance...  This... is PUNISHMENT.

Between my surgery and my vacation I've fallen a bit out of the loop.  But now I'm caught up and this seems like a good step to take.  Now I've just got to decide which (if any) toon I may want to share with PoW.

It also strengthens my decision to only add character slots to Protector at this time, and I may be moving some of my favorite alts from other servers over.  More toons means more of a chance to have one at a comparable level to someone needing a teammate, which is the main reason I play the game.

Well if the Victory Sonjas start making an exodus to Protector, mine will certainly be joining them.
